West Windsor’s Mayor Hemant Marathe, Ph.D., earned an honorary black belt from the American Taekwondo Association on Saturday, January 28th. Mayor Marathe was presented with his honorary black belt and certificate at the grand opening of Liberty Martial Arts’ new location at 33 Princeton Hightstown Road in Ellsworth Village Square.
Mayor Marathe was joined by West Windsor Township Council Members, Sonia Gawas, Linda Geevers, Andrea Mandel, Michael Stevens, and Martin Whitfield. Each member of the council received their own customized white belt from Liberty Martial Arts. The mayor and town council were invited to begin their martial arts training at Liberty Martial Arts which is part of the American Taekwondo Association (ATA). ATA is the world’s largest martial arts organization with over 1200 locations in the United States and even more throughout the world.
