In West Windsor Township, the spirit of gratitude and remembrance comes alive on Saturday, November 11, 2023, as the community gathers for a series of solemn and heartfelt ceremonies to honor our veterans.
10:00 a.m. – Dutch Neck World War II Monument Ceremony:
The day begins with a short ceremony at the Dutch Neck World War II Monument, a poignant remembrance of West Windsor’s own who bravely fought in World War II. It’s a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made and the lives changed during this pivotal period in history.
10:30 a.m. – Laying of the Wreath at the All Wars Memorial:
Moving to the West Windsor Municipal Complex at 271 Clarksville Road, the community will participate in the laying of a wreath at the All Wars Memorial. This solemn gesture pays tribute to all those who have served, recognizing the many wars and conflicts that have shaped our world.
11:00 a.m. – Veterans Day Ceremony at the American Legion Centennial Memorial:
The centerpiece of the day’s events, the Veterans Day Ceremony, will be held at the American Legion Centennial Memorial, also located at the West Windsor Municipal Complex (weather permitting). This is a moment to express our deepest appreciation for the brave men and women who have served our nation.
The ceremonies are conducted with honor and respect by the American Legion Post 76, Mayor Marathe, and the Members of the Township Council: Andrea Mandel, President; Michael Stevens, Vice President; Linda Geevers, Council Member; Sonia Gawas, Council Member; and Martin Whitfield, Council Member.
